Starting in 2000 I began creating short multimedia promotional biographies of Gothic, Industrial, Electronica, EDM, IDM, Noise, Techno, Dark Pop, Electro Punk and Black Metal artists in Macromedia's Director/Shock Wave Format(SWF) and Flash. In 2015 I converted over 200 animations from Flash to HTML5 code and in 2017 I again converted the features to Mpeg4 YouTube Movies. These are my historical archives...

Spring 2004

It seems like as I move the zine towards a hand held mobile format submissions are drying up. I can understand labels wanting promotional efforts to target the desktop, but I'm just not going in that direction. Someday I’ll have a web site that conforms to both hand held and desktop users and who knows by then there may even be a third growing format (tablets???). The whole industry is evolving. Hard product like CDs are becoming less important as downloadable formats grow in importance. But I'll keep on going as long as I get CDs in the mail and this quarter I did get a few, all American releases. A string tribute to Paul McCartney. a solo effort by an Ex-NIN keyboards TWEAKER. BRAINCLAW sent me their latest single and a fantastic CD by Rasputina. Finally a super CD by TESTUBE. Take a moment, it won't take long to check out these five projects.

About the author

RG Geiger has been a visual artist since a very young age. His creativity with technology began with the Commodore 64 where he learned machine language and BASIC programming. Next, he utilized that knowledge to explore the ATARI ST and was published in the first edition of COMPUTES! First Book of ATARI ST. Then moving on to a Windows PC he learned Macromedia Director to created CD-ROM presentations and then Macromedia Flash (later bought by Adobe) to create this Ezine. Since then his concentration has been various web technologies to maintain and expand his internet presence. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Communication from the University of Alaska with an emphasis in graphic design and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Penn State. Under the name Bytet he released a vanity CD of original Electro Gothic music and has appeared on 18 International darkwave compilations in the 90s from France, Italy, Canada and the United States.

Would you or your represented artist like to be featured in a future issue of our zine? you must be prepared to give us permission to use images and words from your web site and/or press kit. Loop creates an animated biography for your project. It can also be very auto-biographical as we often will merely mirror your web content using your own words in our interactive musical animations. Loop uses this multimedia production to highlight your current available product. You must also be willing to give permission to Loop to sample from 20 to 40 seconds of your music for this production. Loop prefers to receive this product along with your press kit. E-mailed Electronic Press kits will not be accepted.
